Seriously, its not the top of the line, mac daddy of all SUV's, but its great price wise. I love the fold down console in the front seats so you can get to the back seat easily. But the best part is the back doors open 90?. When you are getting an infant seat in and out, that is a HUGE bonus feature to me.

Ditto! Michelle and many others rec this car to us and we LOVE it. It is a great car and wonderful for our baby. Perfect size for us. I have jumped in the backseat many a time through the middle easily.
My CRV is the best bike hauler out there! Love it, and it's been really reliable. Plenty of storage room for all the bikes and bike stuff (or a pack n play if that's how you roll). I'd recommend it!
I have a new 2009 Rav4 and absolutely LOVE it. The size is perfect, it was ranked safest SUV for it's class and it's extremely roomy! We found buying a new one was cheaper than buying a used one...by like $6K, so we went the "new" route (not our style normally). Highly recommended!
I like my Toyota Highlander, but it's a seven-passenger car. We bought it with the thought that we might have another kid or two in the time we plan to keep it (my last car was almost ten years old, and I would have kept it if I could have gotten two carseats in it).
It has plenty of cargo space and is very comfortable on long trips -- we've already been to Indiana and back in it.
"You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means."
I think I agree! I have a friend with an Honda Odessey, I have driven it a few times and I think it's pretty cool. It has a lot of features and it really doesn't drive like a minivan at all. Both sides open making for easy loading.
I love my SUV but I'm not sure that it's for everyone. We went the luxury route and got an Infiniti QX56. Not the greatest on gas (my firends call it the bus) but it has a lot of power and comes standard with lots of options. And we got a great deal. I'm an options whore so it was either this truck or the Acura MDX. Happy car shopping
Just get a big 'ol truck like my Expedition. You can hold 25 people plus all their crap. And you get 15 miles to the gallon - it's great! Good luck SUV shopping!
Honda CRV! Love it- perfect family friendly vehicle. It's good on gas. Has a double decker cargo space so I always have my big stroller and still plenty of room for groceries. The back doors open wide so its easy to get the carseat in and out. It even has a fold down console so I can get into the backseat quickly if I have to. Oh, and the display lights up blue... believe it or not, this is a big deal for me :-) We also really liked the Saturn Vue and now that they are being discontinued, you may be able to get a great deal on one of those- so be sure to check them out as well!
I love my Ford Taurus X. It's a crossover (wagon/suv mix) and I like that it sits a little lower because I'm short. It has tons of room and I really like how the interior is set up. We have driven it on several road trips and my husband always says how much he likes driving it.
I'm with ya Queenie!!! I fought the good fight against a minivan...but I finally gave in and LOVE it. With 2 kids and hopefully one more one way I can't imagine driving anything else.
I have a 2004 Hyundai Santa Fe and I love it. It is and was a pretty inexpensive suv considering everything that you get with it. And the new models have an option of folding down 3rd row so it can seat up to 7 people (instead of 5). I would buy my car over and over again. It is comfortable and roomy. It is a smaller suv but it is quite big and roomy for a smaller suv.
I love my Acura MDX. I loves the way it drives and it's plenty roomy. We looked at the CRV, RAV, etc and decided we needed a little bigger. It doesn't feel like a huge car though. We also considered the Mazda CX9 and really liked it, but it is a very long car. I didn't think it would fit in my garage! But it won best SUV last year by Car & Driver or something like that. We shopped FOREVER, but I am very happy with the choice we made!
