How long did it take the GD ladies to get your number under control??!! this is only my first day of testing, so I am sure that it is going to take me a few days to get to "normal" numbers, but just curious!
this is only my third full day of doing this but I've already got my breakfast and lunch numbers under control... still trying to figure out how to lower my dinner and fasting numbers though.

My first day of the diet was 9/30. I was put on insulin on 10/7, and admitted to the hospital for uncontrolled sugars on 10/15. I was released from the hospital diet controlled (no insulin anymore) on 10/21, but my diet turned out to be way different than the original meal plan they gave me. That's why it took me a hospital trip to get it under control, I was following meal plan to a tee, but it was just wrong!
basically now, it's under control. But it took me from 9/30 until 10/20ish to get it right.

Meal times are different, and the amount of carbs per meal and snack are different. Turns out my body can't handle 45g carb at dinner, it's gotta be 30g in order for my number to be good. Small little changes, but they are the difference in my being in the hospital or not!

My fasting numbers are still a little borderline (I have to keep below 95, they are usually between 90-95), but all my meal numbers are good so far. I've been on it the last two weeks. The last two nights though, I had a spoon full of peanut butter right before bed, and my fasting numbers have been 88 and 83...so maybe that's my trick to getting them down! It really does vary so much between people, it's finding what works for you. For me, I have:
breakfast: 30 g
am snack: 30 g
lunch: 45 g
pm snack: 15-30 g
dinner: 30 g
bed snack: 15 g
I need at least 180g/day to keep my ketones in the negative, and my numbers have been good. As the pregnancy progresses, things may change, who knows?
