XP: 36wk Induction Birth Story - long

This is long, and probably not typed out  very well ? but here it goes:

For those who don?t know my back story?. At 35 weeks I was diagnosed with gallstones which became infected (literally overnight).  The gallbladder needed to be removed, but because the placenta was too close to the gallbladder, they opted to place a stint to drain the bile.  It was a non-traditional placement, and it went through my ribs, intercostals, and diaphragm, then into my gallbladder.  It was the most painful thing ever.  Because of this, I was a mess.  I was hospitalized for 1 week, and very very sick.  When I was finally discharged, my doctor saw me the next day (her practice does rounds at the hospital, and she only saw me in the beginning) and said ?I think we need to induce you?.  I was sent for an amino 2 days later, I was only 36 weeks (and I had gestational diabetes) so they were pretty sure the FLM would not pass.  However, two hours after the amino, we got the call ? I was being induced that very night (which was a Thursday).

We arrived at the hospital at 10PM.  They started me off with cervadil to prep my cervix.  I was only 1cm dilated walking in.  I got it around midnight (thrs/fri) and they thought it would brew overnight. At 3 am Friday, I was contracting every 3 mins.  YIKES!   Thats not supposed to happen, but it can ? and it did.   They then pulled the cervadil 12 hours later at noon.  The contractions were consistent, and I could feel them, but it wasn't too bad.   Then at 2pm (after a shower) they started the pitocin - thus began the incredibly long wait...
The pitocin did nothing for me.  Twelve hours went by (its now Saturday am), and I was only dilated at 2cm.   The contractions stayed, and again was a little painful, but nothing I couldn't stand.  However,

my doc decided to try and speed up everything by breaking my water (so she did) and they said I should get my epidural (so I did).   Long story short, I contracted all night long... woke up, the epi ran out of juice and I was only at 4 cm.  UGH!  I had been in labor for well over 24 hours.   The doc who took over decided it might be time for a c-section... I was pissed!  This was probably 9AM on Saturday.   They decided to up the pitocin, gave me a boost on the epi and give it one last shot... I jumped to 7, and things got started (this was probably around noon).  Thus began what I call butt labor (lol) I felt everything in my butt... and not that "its like you have to take a big poo" feeling that everyone talks about.   It was nothing I can describe.  ANYWAYS - At 2PM, I was at 9cm, and at 2:30PM, I was at 9 1/2 and begged to start pushing. They said no... I begged again, they said no. I pushed anyway, they yelled at me.  Finally, they decided to let me push... and so I pushed, and pushed, and the pitocin was still pumping.  I was not getting any breaks with my contractions.  First hour went by, I was a champ, 2nd hour went by... eh, I was not happy.   The last 30 mins I was the biggest baby and bitched the whole time.  Really, its the last few minutes of pushing that do the most work I realized, and my epi had really run dry at this point!  Tori came shooting out at 4:35PM - I just laid there lifeless. I didn't cry or anything (normally I tear up at everything). I was happy it was over with - and could hear them working on Tori's vitals in the background.  I pushed out the placenta maybe 5 mins later - and it was done. I kid you not, they had me out of bed, cleaning up, and ordering food 15 mins later! (they ship you off to another floor 2 hours post partum) DH went with Tori to the ICU (she was sent due to being a preemie), and I saw her about 1 hour later. She was then in our room 10 hours later. :)

That about sums it up!

Oh ? and the gallbladder came out that Thursday (along with the painful stint)!
