Babies: 3 - 6 Months

anyone call LO a NN you hate?

my IL's call Brooks Brooksy.  And I get it if you are just doing baby babble and it comes out- I have said it before (even though I dislike it).   However they call him Brooksy all.the.time.  On the phone it's how is 'Brooksy' doing?

and this may not seem like a big deal, but our 10 yr old nephew is still Zachy to them.

Anyone else biting their tongue on a nn?

  • My mom calls DD "Grandmas Cookie". I don't know WTH she came up with that but it's super obnoxious.

"Whhhhere's grandmas cooookie???? There she is!!!" Ick!

  • Loading the player...
  • FIL calls S "Sam I Am"

Like I haven't heard that before.

  • My parents call him Finney and their little king. Not so iritating I just don't want it to stick.
  • Not really- I call her 2 of the worst nicknames in the book probably:  Maya Papaya and Pickle.  Nothing really gets worse than that.

  • My niece calls him DJ and it drives me nuts. We've told everyone we're not calling him that and asked them not to do it either.  I think she does it to piss us off, lol.

  • My nephew tried calling DS Benji.  I threatened to not get him a Christmas present if he did it again.  Stick out tongue
  • YES!!!!! my husband calls her "Dan Dan" and it irritates me so bad and he know it does so he does it even more lol
  • My Bf's mom calls him "My baby boy".

Not a nickname, but it pisses me off like you wouldn't believe!

  • MIL calls her "nene"

Which drives me insane because "nene" for us means boy and DD is not a boy!!!

  • My Mom calls DD "Pumpkin"...which wouldn't be so bad if she said "where's my pumpkin" but she says "where's pumpkin" or "how's pumpkin"...like we call her pumpkin too...and we don't.
  • FIL calls DS "gyro"....wtf?

That's so random...and isn't that an effin sandwhich?!

  • Oh and when I was pregnant, we would call Alex "Boy" because we didn't share the name we picked out.

Boyfriend STILL calls him BOY and it just seems so tacky to me.

  • Yes!  LO has a dorky fifth generation name but he's nicknamed Noah (by DH and I).  However the family likes to call him by his initials and #, which is NSPV (pronounced NSP "five").  Ugh.
  • MIL calls her apple sauce, cause when i was pregnant, all i wanted was apple juice............ yes, i know they arent the same.

When my nephew first met baby Zoe, we were telling him, "can you say hi to baby Zoe?" so he says, "Hi baby Snowie."

so that one stuck. we like that one!

We called DD "toots" when I was PG (she made mama gassy) and it stuck. DH and my brother still only refer to her by toots. I don't think I have ever her DH say her real name.

My MIL calls DD "cookie" too and I HATE it! She also calls her "Boopsie". I dunno where the F she came up with that, but I hate it just as much.

Maybe I only hate it b/c it's coming from MIL, but either way, I still hate it. lol

Danielle was my first choice for DD but I got veto'ed b.c DH didn't want "a female version of himself" (He is Daniel) And whatever b/c she looks exactly like him, so he got a little female version of himself anyway!

  • my h often calls B  "sack lunch"  (this developed from me telling him we don't put him in a dress. but in a sleep sack at night)

well everyone except MIL calls her that.

  • We didn't tell DS' name before he was born, but we did say that it would start with a 'B', so my dad's cousin started referring to him as BJ, and continues, even though she knows his name is Bauer.  It drives me crazy!

I also hate when my mom or MIL refer to DS as "my little prince/boy/etc". He is my little boy, your grandson (petty, I know, but it still annoys me)..

  • No one calls him anything annoying. His most commonly used nicknames are Brycie and BC.
  • I'm the guilty one. I call DS "Bubba" sometime. I can't help it. It just comes out! DH hates it.
  • My extended family decided to call DS "Henri" (pronouncing it like he was  French). I have no idea why.

They did it so much that my grandmother, who is part French-Canadian, though that was how his name was supposed to be pronounced.

  • My MIL insists on calling him "my lil Joe."  Not heinous, just annoys the sh!t out of me.  We call him Joey, thus MY mom calls him "JoeyBear".  Equally annoying.

Personally, I don't care for his name, so I call him "Boo".

  • DH calls Ryan "R.Y."  I have a feeling if he keeps saying it, it will stick.  It's cute for now, but his name is Ryan.  R.Y. isn't even a real nick name.  Err.
