Snarky and T-TTC

to keep the streak of good decisions alive

for MH i mean.

he was up for over 24 hours putting the finishing touches on a house he is rehabbing b/c the appraiser was set to come yesterday at 10:30.

the guy leaves, and MH decides that the locking 6-ft. privacy fence he put up is plenty secure, so he leaves all of his tools in the unlocked garage.  i think he probably even left some just laying in the yard, though he would never admit it.

so he goes home to take a nap and, lo and behold, when he goes back, most of his tools are missing.  OMG, someone stole them?!  at least $3,000 worth.  now, we have to find a way to buy new tools with money we don't have so that we can finish the nursery and upstairs bathroom.

i looked at him this morning and thought, "how did i get here?"

but this is real life here, people.  this is my life.

i called today and they said they will, unless MH uses those tools for work, b/c then they should be covered under a separate business policy.

he owns a remodeling company, but hasn't done paid work in over a year.  he mostly uses the tools on our shell of a house.

i think they will pay, but i bet we get a lot of hassle beforehand.  and why shouldn't we?  i mean over 2 years of paying for a home and 2 vehicles with no claims, how dare we try to file one for $3,000?

Not to freak you out,  but since they were stolen from a job site they really might not.  I hope they do,  but I just wanted to prepare you for that arguement.

  • My H left a $1,000 compressor sitting on the FRONT PORCH of our old house (which was in the ghetto) for several days, despite my nagging, until someone finally stole it.  AND HE DIDN'T EVEN NOTICE until I thanked him for finally putting it away...  Angry
