My 4 week old has been on target w/his dirty diapers.  Now for the past 2 days, he is constipated.  He has gas, and I see him bearing down, but no yuckie diaper. 

 Anyone else experiance this?

    Is he breastfed or formula fed?

    Ooooh yeah. He was inconsolable and was grunting and bearing down for a while and finally I got the build up diaper of two and a half days tonight and man o man was it nasty. I formula feed and hear they can get constipated easily, so im going to bring it up to the doctor and see what they say.

    Even with breastfed babies they can go up to three days without pooping. The second you wake up on day four with no poop, call the pedi immediately. My friends newborn has a tight sphincter and they have to give her a suppository every few days to get her moving again.
