We're celebrating our 5 year anniversary three months late (and 10 year dating ann!!) -- any tips on places to go? Not too fancy. We've liked La Fondue (but don't want to go w/ just the two of us), California Cafe, Tamarine, Lyang Lyang...
We used to love going to the Left Bank at Santana Row for our anniversary. It always felt like a mini-vacation to me. This year we went to Twist Cafe in Campbell, which is totally not the same experience, nor what you're looking for.

Haha, was wondering what the last part meant, thinking.. uh, they play Twister there??
Sounds yummy, though. I'll keep it in mind for the future, though!
I've heard great things about Alexander's before, but I wonder if it would be lost on us b/c we're not big steak eaters. Well, DH will but I don't feel like it right now
Hmm... I think I've heard of the Wine Cellar before...
Some of our favorite casual but still a nice/special night out type of places...
Sent Sovi in Saratoga (love this place, really cozy and romantic..)
Bistro Elan in Palo Alto
We recently tried Plumed Horse in Saratoga...this is more of a splurge place though...but thought the food was really good and love the ambiance (ok, a little on the fancy side..but hey its 5 years!)
Los Altos Grill, Zibbibos ni Palo Alto, Joya in Palo Alto,
Re: Reccomend SBay restaurants for anniversary
How about somewhere at Santana Row? There are a bunch of great restaurants depending on what type of food you want.
Any that you suggest? I think we've been to Pizza Antica (?), Straits (asian fusion, I think -- is it there still?), Amber, Maggianos.
I kinda want to go somewhere new, although those sound good too.
If you are looking for Santana Row, I think Thea is good.
I was going to recommend Alexander's Steakhouse but it might be "fancier" than what you are looking for - but its really good!

One of my favorites is Village Cafe. I am also a fan of Left Bank and have heard good things about Thea (I have only had appetizers there).
DH and I are going to try LB Steak tomorrow night, it is the owners of the Left Bank, but it is a steak house (used to be Tanglewood).
In Los Gatos is the Wine Cellar, I love this place, very romantic!!
Thanks for the recs! I'll run them by DH.
