Newborn/Infant/Toddler Hangers

I'm using the infant hangers for our nursery closet, and I'm unsure what to do with all of the babys' pants. Should I hang them? I don't have a dresser for him yet, because I was planning on hanging everything, but now it seems like the pants may fall off of the hanger. How are you organizing your baby clothes?

Re: Newborn/Infant/Toddler Hangers

  • Do you have a shelf in the closet that you could fold and put the pants on?  Sorry that I am not much help, I put the pants in the dresser.

  • Maybe buy a closet organizer that has shelf-like attachments? DS has a dresser but we aren't getting one for the new LO. I'm hoping to just get an organizer and put her folded stuff there for now.

  • I have everything hung up for right now, but after I wash all the clothes more of it is going to be folded. DH put in one of those closetmaid shelves, so we have a tall tower in the middle of the closet with 5 shelves.
  • You could get the clip hangers so the pants won't fall off.  I know they sell them at BRU.
  • we hang shirts and one pieces (or dresses), but in the dresser we have blankets, sleepers, pj's, onesies and pants.
  • I hung all of the outfits together, pants and all. This way there's no confusion as to what pants go with what shirt. Just put the pants under the shirt or sweater, which keeps it on the hanger.

Separate pants that didn't belong with a top are just folded in half in the drawer.

  • Thanks for asking this question! I was going to post the same thing today. I'm so clueless about what to do with all her clothes.

  • I just bought baby hangers with clips at Wal-mart last night. I believe they were 3 for $2.50 approx.
  • I asked every baby store I shopped at for the pants hangers. Everyone, other than the stores with wooden hangers, were more than happy to stock me up.

I hung all clothes other than under onesies, sleepers, and little lounge pants. It was the only way I wouldn't miss clothes so he wore everything. I still do this with my 3yr old.

  • I have baby pants hangers from Target, 3 for $3.
