Manhattan day care center help!

Hi - this is the first time I have ever posted a message on any board but I am desperate!  Does anyone have information on whether there are day care centers in Manhattan that have extended hours and are open past 6:30???  I work long hours and am frequently home by 8:30 or 9PM during the week.  Also, my company does not subscribe to any backup day care options, so those would not apply here.  I'd rather do day care rather than a nanny because of the activities day care provides as well as the cost factor.  Any info would be greatly appreciated, thanks so much -- V.

    There is Tutor Time in Chelsea on 6th Ave. as well as a Pre-School of America which is also in Chelsea, though Pre-School of America has numberous locations.  They both have extended hours I believe, but not until 8 or 9.  You may be able to get someone to watch your child after daycare for the extra hour or two.  Wish I could be more help, but I do not believe there are any other centers open later than these two.

    I haven't run across any places open that late. I'm having enough trouble finding an affordable place regularly open until 6:30. I think your best bet would be to hire a babysitter for a few hours every night.

    Thanks for the responses.  I'm probably going to have to do the babysitter after day care but was trying to avoid that.  I'm amazed that in NYC of all places there are no day care centers open later.
