Confused about my chart...

As of yesterday I assumed I Oed on CD12. I did a big no-no this morning and now it has me even more confused. Tongue Tied

My temp was 97.7 which as way low from the two previous days so I temped again. The second time was 98.1 and the third time was 98.2. I know should not have re-temped but 97.7 threw me for a loop.

If I go with 97.7 my coverline shoots up to 98.3, crazy high. If I use 98.1 I get O confirmation...I am making myself crazy. I am using OPKs and haven't gotten a + but I did start late in using them. If I did O on CD12 then I missed the surge. If I didn't then I should get a + really soon.

Help!! I'm so lost...thoughts??

ETA: Software predicts O on CD16, Friday. I know it isn't always right but I just wanted to throw that out there.

yea, you really have to look at the pattern of temps rather than just 1 or 2. there are so many factors that can affect your temps. i remember when i broke my ankle, if i took a pain pill at night my temp would be so low in the morning (below my coverline), even if i had already confirmed that i O'd. and that really threw me off until i realized what i was doing that was out of my normal routine. and like i said in my previous post, something as simple as sleeping with more blankets at night can cause your temp to be higher in the morning (i've seen this with my chart since it's been colder at night the past couple of nights).

anyway, if you took your temp like you usually do (sometimes i have to retemp b/c i'm half asleep and the thermometer is falling out of my mouth) then i would stay with your 1st temp of 97.7. you said you thought it was early in your cycle to have O'd anyway, so maybe you didn't. i would just wait it out and see. i know sometimes the temps can drive you crazy, but eventually you will be able to tell when/if you O'd.

Thanks Tiff! I was hoping you would respond. I played with my chart a little and if I O later and my temps are only as high as the 2 in the 98 range it will not confirm O. So is it possible I may not know? Esp, if the high temps were due to more covers, heat, etc?

no, you should definitely know when you O even if your temps stay around the low 98s because they won't drop back down until AF. does that make sense? it's more about the pattern of temps. usually when i O even if my temps fluctuate within the 98 range, they don't drop below the coverline until AF shows up. as long as you are consistent with how/when you take your temp you should be able to tell when you O, and you should see the pattern. i hope that wasn't a confusing explanation - lol.

No that makes sense. I was more that my cover line did not readjust so the software wouldn't confirm an O at all. So all my temps were below the coverline.

Anyway, I get what you are saying. We will continue to BD and watch to see what my temps and OPKs do over the next few days.

And I would definitely use your first temp.

ah, i get what you're saying. yea a # of times i have had to readjust my coverline manually because FF didn't readjust automatically. but you should still be able to pick out when you O'd and what your new coverline should be and then readjust pretty easily (though i have never used OS before).

lol, btw, thx for the compliments about being an expert. i hardly think i am though.

Ditto! I hated those random lower temps after O. The first one is always best, no matter how funky it makes your chart.

I don't think I can override my coverline with Ovusoft. I am sure if I cannot tell in a week or so, I will be asking!

Yea, I bought this sw back when I was TTC Lyla. It was a one time fee and I liked it better than FF. Had I known then that FF was more common I would have chosen it. This is the sw that correlates to TCOYF. I love it though.
