Recommend your OB / midwife

Hey ladies, I don't know how much traffic this board gets, so I'm going to XP to the Nest RI board.

I'm looking for a new OB / midwife in the Providence / Cranston area, preferably with priveleges in the ABC at W&I. I am at one of the mega-practices now and am looking for a smaller practice (max 5 doctors / midwives).

Re: Recommend your OB / midwife

  • My OB is Dr. Tetreault w/ Women's Care, but she is in EG (well, EG/Warwick line, but technically EG).  I delivered at W&I both times, but not in ABC.  I know there are 2 midwives in the practice...they must deliver there.  GL!

  • I was seen by both Dr. Medeiros (Female) and Dr. Clairborne (Male) at Women's Care. They are both very wonderful doctors and Clairborne ended up delivering my son. The practice has several doctors but there are 2 locations, one being in Cranston on Tollgate and the other in Providence.

Hope this helped. All the best through the rest of your pregnancy.

  • I would highly recommend center for obgyn in providence. It is bigger practice but I love them!!  The midwifes there are great.

  • i greatly disliked obgyn associates in providence and i LOVE caring for women in warwick.  it is a hike for me to get there from cumberland, but it is worth it to deal with doctors that communicate and do their jobs.
  • I used Andrea Young-Deciantis in Riverside/East Providence.  She delivers at Women & Infants but I am not sure if the ABC is different from the main hospital.
  • I also go to Women's Care. Fionna Clement was our MW and I did see Dr. Claiborne once. He made us laugh and we liked him just as much as Fionna.
  • I go to Dr Crowthers at Broadway OB/GYN in Providence and love her!
  • I see a midwife at OBGYN Associates in Providence and so far, I am loving it!  My cousin who is 3 days overdue goes there and also sees a midwife and has nothing but good things to say about them and one of my very good friends and previous day care provider also went to them and loved them with all her pregnancies!

    Good Luck!

I ditto this.  Although, I see Dr. Gange there, I love the practice.  I'm not sure how other practices work, but they make sure you see everyone in the practice before having your baby.  Dr. Ramos delivered my little boy.  But, really, the whole practice is awesome.

  • Ditto Caring for Women in Warwick. I love Dr. Powers. She has privileges at Kent and W&I.

  • I hated OBGYN in Providence - to me, it felt like a baby factory - but I absolutely love OBGYN in Newport with Kathy Tirrell.  :)

  • Hi! I work at Women's Care and we actually have 5 CNMs, however, Im not sure that we deliver at ABC.
  • Hi! I work at Women's Care and I'm also expecting. We actually have five locations in Providence, Pawtucket, Woonsocket, Swansea and East Greenwich.
  • I have not gotten pregnant yet, but I do see an OB/GYN for my yearly exams and I love her!  Dr. Powers at Caring For Women in Warwick.
I married the man of my dreams June 2, 2007!
