PIO wasn't so bad....

DH did a very good job. He had to tell me to stop freaking out so he wouldn't pee his pants, though. Ha.

Of course, I think we have a problem with the 27-gauge needles... I don't know if he was pushing too fast, the needle was on badly, or what, but we had a lot run out, so I'm not precisely sure how actually much went into me.

So has anyone done this with a really thin needle? Am I going to have to break down and use the 22s?

Re: PIO wasn't so bad....

  • We HATE the 27 gauge needles - or at least I do. They hurt like a mother and DH has a hard time getting it to go in. It's normal for the PIO to leak out and if you do switch to the 22 gauge the PIO is very thick and you might have a hard time getting it to ome out.

The PIO scares me the most, but I know that I just have to deal with it.

  • To stop it from leaking out, leave the needle in for 15 seconds after the injection is complete.

  • Actually it was leaking out while he was injecting it, I'm guessing from the top where the needle attaches, which is why I'm wondering if I just need to use the 22 so it's not nearly as tiny.
