What did you do when your baby was in between the two. Emma is getting too long for most of her preemie sleepers. But, the newborn stuff is SO long it is ridiculous. I even tried gowns, but the sleeves are too long. What did you do in between?
I rolled the sleeves and used rubber bands around the ankles to keep the sleeper on around her feet. Believe me your LO will grow into those newborn sizes quicker than you think.
I used smaller Gerber onsies under their newborn things and rolled the sleaves. As someone else said, they grow into the newborn (and out of them!) faster than you would think. I wouldn't waste too much money on buying the inbetween.

We have the exact same problem right now! We just retired the preemie stuff actually and wear newborn things, just rolled up or too big. Oh well! Also, we mostly only have 0-3 stuff because I had no idea that 0-3 and newborn were different sizes, oops! lol
Definitely check out Gerber. We had some of their NB onesies and they looked almost preemie-sized, but were too big on DS at first. So that may be perfect for your LO right now. I also got alot of wear out of the preemie outfit we had made by Kushies. The tag said "up to 4lbs. and 17in." but DS wore it until he was about 7lbs. and 19in.
Actually, I'm going to throw out a vote for Carter's, too, EXCEPT the fleece stuff. Their outfits and long-sleeved onesies in NB fit Ellie pretty well.
We found that Janie and Jack runs big - so their preemie size still fit when other brands' preemie sizes were too small and newborn too big. Of course, it is $$, so try to get the grandparents to shop there! :-)
Ditto Gerber - their stuff run small, especially the onesies. I wouldn't spend a lot of money on in between clothes tho. We literally had Savy in the Gerber newborn onesies for 2 weeks before they had to be retired. Not worth it a whole lot of extra cost.
