Parenting after a Loss

Time to put NB clothes away...

I can't believe it!!!  I am trying to milk the onsies a few more days since they are so cute....but Adelyn was born at 21 inches already (long and lean) so they are not really fitting her well.  The 3 month old clothes fit her great length wise, but swim on her lean body.

Sigh....my little newborn is growing up into a little baby!  lol.  :-)

Re: Time to put NB clothes away...

  • I cried when I had to put away the NB clothes!!!  Just make sure you have some cute 3M to look forward to!

EC is long and lean too, you kind of get used to their clothes being too wide.  And when I see a baby who fills out their clothes, it kind of makes me laugh a little.  Not a mean laugh but just a reminder that my baby is lean and there are chunky cuties out there too.

  • Oh, I know what you mean... it's great to see our LO's grow and hit milestones but it just reinforces how quickly the time goes by.

I cant believe my DD is 40 days away from her 1st birthday!!

  • Sheesh, I have a few NB clothes I'm going to have to pack away already, my babe must be a big girl! The other day I tried to stretch a NB Gerber onesie over her tummy and the neck part was stretched down so much I knew it would be the last time she would wear that one! It makes me sad, but its also exciting because now we have lots more new clothing choices!

Haha, I always have to stretch the Gerber onesies.  My little dude is such a chunk!

  • Awww,I hated putting the NB clothes away!! But it was fun to see the new clothes we had to put her in. And those Gerber onesies shrink and run small IMO. But then I have a chunky monkey :)
  • It was tough to make that jump.  D is long and lean too, so it makes two piece outfits hard, huh?  It seems like all the bottoms are either too short, but ok on the waist, or the right length, but falling off of him!

I actually packed up all the premie and NB clothes and dropped them off at the special care nursery yesterday (he was there for a week after 8 days in the NICU.)  That was so hard to be there again.  I am tearing up thinking about it right now!  But thought I'd mention if anyone is looking to donate small sizes that the hospitals could probably use them.

  • Same here.  Mal is long and lean.  She was 22.25" at birth and 95th %tile now for length.  I retired 4 NB sleepers 2 weeks ago - they were highwaters!  BTW I did alot of shopping and found that Circo brand at Target are perfect for LO.  She fits 3 mo. in length and they are much slimmer on her.  Check those out.

Ditto - I was about to say to check out the Circo items, they are made for these long/lean babies.  We really like the Circo sleepers we have.

  • Mine was also 21 inches at birth, and I'm already starting to pack away some of the NB stuff.  Sounds like our kids have similar builds; Natasha is also really skinny.
  • DS already has to wear his 3-6month onepieces! He's still ok with the onesie pant sets in 0-3 but union suits and footie pjs he's in 3-6. He doesn't fit in the NB onesies anymore either. I'm so so sad!
