Has anyone ever done a needle and thread test?
A friend of mine did this at a big get together, it can be done on either men or women and before during or after pregnancy. You need to thread a needle and knot the thread so the needle doesnt fall off. It should sort of look like a pendulum. whoever you are testing holds their right hand up like they are holding a cup (fingers make a c like shape). hold the needle and thread so that the needle is just inside the hand. you dip the needle three times then bring it back to rest near the top of the hand and hold your hand totally still. if the needle makes a circular motion it indicates a girl and a straight line indicates a boy. you wait for the needle to stop and start the process over again. When you dip it up and down and it doesnt move, you are done. if the needle stops and then starts again...twins.
He did this on everyone present and the odd part is that the husbands and wives matched. DH's and my results were two boys then a girl. It was correct on the few people who already had children with their gender and order. He said that he has seen approximately an 85% accuracy rate (he's a math teacher).
Any thoughts?

Sounds like the spoon trick the grandma performed in the book Middlesex...
~SAIF/PAIF/Everyone Welcome~
Me= 37 and DH = 41
Dx: DOR, Endo, APA+ (really high beta 2 glycoprotein antibody and high everything else tested), heterozygous MTHFR mutation, positive for lupus anticoagulant, high FSH, low AMH and both tubes blocked (per HSG on 3/8/11)
IVF #1 - long lupron (with HGH, intralipids, lovenox and BA); 4 retrieved, 3 fertilized; ET 2 blasts and 1 frozen = BFN
IVF #2 - a version of antagonist with EPP (with HGH, intralipids, lovenox and BA); 6 retrieved, 4 mature, 3 fertilized, 2 blasts and 1 frozen blast transferred on day 5 = BFN.
IVF #3 April was postponed to May, May was canceled. June/July was canceled. Had a cyst aspiration and then began IVF #3 in August. ER on 8/22; ET on 8/24 with AH. +HPT on 9/5. Beta #1 (11dpo) = 3; Beta #2 (15dpo) = 29; Beta #3 (17dpo) = 60; Beta #4 (19 dpo) = 118. Heartbeat at 6 weeks 6 days =132. Lil is here!
TTC#2: Trigger + TI = BFN; Clomid + Trigger + IUI = BFN.
IVF #4: BCP + MDLF + Lovenox = 7R, 1F = Transferred 1 6-cell embryo on day 3 = BFN
IVF #5: MDLF + Lovenox = 4R, 1F = Transferred 1 10-cell compacting embryo on day 3 = BFN
IVF #6: (New RE): Long Antagonist November 2014 (transferred two 8 cell grade 1 embryos and froze one blast) = BFN
FET#1: BFN
::wondering what is up with all the gender predictor posts today::

I hope and pray that it is not accurate. My mom's neighbor did this test on me and it showed that I was having triplets. Two girls and a boy. Guess we will find out in a few weeks, but I'm going to guess that it was probably wrong!
Oh, and the lady's husband says she is right about 90% of the time. Hoping that I'm in the 10%!
Ridiculous.
And also if they're going by what was accurate when the results were already known, your hand can subconsciously move in the direction that would give the proper result.
Before you begin with the boy girl ? Ask it what way is boy and what way is girl. Also, It could give you an off reading if u are too early, but I doubt that. It also works better with a pointed crystal called pendulum. Like these: https://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=https://www.everythingsmystic.com/images/products/dow0120.jpg&imgrefurl=https://www.everythingsmystic.com/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=178&usg=__8-BH-7y4uXUdGDP8PqE0NDVcipk=&h=413&w=493&sz=25&hl=en&start=1&um=1&tbnid=IKpPzWw5UdJTjM:&tbnh=109&tbnw=130&prev=/images?q=crystal+pendulum&hl=en&um=1
You ask the pendulum!
It will show you!
lol its hard to explain in typing! Sorry I am doing my best!
I have heard of this with pendulum ( due to the properties of the crystal) but never a needle.

It answers you by the way it moves. It will move one way for a boy & a different way for a girl.

sorry if i offended your beliefs, but the way i explained it was EXACTLY how he did it. its a big thing apparently in the Pennsylvania Dutch culture, which I live in the middle of. Several friends in the area have done it, and i think that what you are describing is a different tradition.
In regards to the oval, i would have to check with my friend, but the lines we had were clearly straight lines. So my guess might be a girl.
The other reason he had someone do it to him (they already have two boys) is to show how hard it is to fake it and make the needle move without moving your hand.
Gee I guess I should think about my posts a little longer before i post them. Didnt think this would get someone so riled up!
Cool! What traditions or practices do you follow? (just curious)
Woah, I'm late, but I have to say I think you're acting very aggressive towards her. Just because you have a traditional way of doing something (which is all a bunch of crap, IMO), doesn't mean what she was describing made "NO sense". Personally, I don't think any of it really makes any sense, so I could say the same about you and your crystal. Do you realize you told us to ask an object a question in order to find out our baby's gender? And you're acting like she makes no sense?
You are welcome to believe what you want. But ease off someone who has experience outside of your own.
Agreed. Is it not possible that there are two different methods/schools of thought? Wow.
