Pregnant after 35

9 days away from my bday - 10 days away from the best present!

Yep, I'll turn 39 in just 9 days. WOW!  I'm sure you all remember when you were young older people telling you how the time passes even quicker the older you get.  I never believed it.  It's SO true!

The next day I'll get the best present!!  We will be finding out the sex of our baby. :)  Oh please cooperate baby or your mommy will cry. LOL.  Heck, I will cry even if he/she does cooperate. :)

  • Don't worry, honey.  I think at 20 weeks, your baby will have developed a lot, so it should be easy to see a pee-pee or wee-wee, no matter what the baby does!  Just cough to get him/her to move around so you can see the goods!  I am so excited for you.  Finding out the gender is a real treat!

Ok, I'll remember to cough!  :)  I'll stand on my head if I have too, although I'm sure that wouldn't last for long. lol.  It is exciting.  I'm so ready to buy a gender specific outfit. :)

  • Wow, double congrats!

When we had 'the big ultrasound', Libby did NOT cooperate. she sat butt down with her legs crossed and tucked up tight and there was no way to see. I had the amnio later and we had just a flash of what was there, but it was a 'best guess' and not for certain (amnio itself confirmed it). Anyway, if I had known, I would have had a big drink of orange juice about 20 minutes before the ultrasound - that gets them moving and, if they move, eventually they'll show you the goods.Smile

I hope your LO cooperates! What do you think you're having?

Oh, and we're officially halfway there! 20 weeks!

  • Happy Early Birthday Shannon!!

FYI - I cried,  all three times that baby hid it's bits!!  It was moving around like crazy at all three ultrasounds, but refused to open it's legs at all.  Not to rain on your parade, but I'm now reluctantly and grumpily stuck with team green Smile   I've considered fibbing about fetal movement to get another u/s but I'm not so juvenile that I could actually ever go through with it.

I'll remember the OJ too!  Halfway is SO exciting!

I really think it's a girl.  It might just be because I want a girl so bad though.  I have 2 boys and and DH's parents have a new grandson.  Oh and I'm an only child so my dad has no granddaughters either.  It would be nice to add a little girl to the mix.  My boys would also LOVE to have a little sister (they have a 1/2 brother already).

  • I read somewhere that mom is about 70% likely to get the sex right, which is way better than the 50/50 odds of random chance, so odds are in your favor for a girl! I hope you hear pink in 10 days!

  • I like those odds! :)

  • Yay! The big u/s where we found the gender was absolutely the most exciting part of the pregnancy. I couldn't get the smile off my face the whole time.

  • VERY EXCITING. Enjoy the celebration of your b-day and I can't wait to hear about baby's gender.

BTW where in NC are you from?
