EP and nipple pain

Okay the past few days I will get a shooting pain in my nipples at random times.  I only pump because my DD cant latch, so I dont know if this is just something because of pumping or if its something that happens to EBF also.  It freakin hurts and I look stupid when I am walking around and I just grab my boob cause it hurts so bad!  I have used nipple cream to help with the general soreness I get, but its not helping this.

Any ideas on what may help?
