Do you wait until your baby is full-out crying to pick him/her up to feed him? Or do you pick him/her up to feed him when he is squirming and making noises? My LO wakes up every 2 hours or so at night and I wonder what is the trick to make his spans of sleep even longer. Any tips?

I'm not one to give sleep advice because my LO is not a good sleeper by any stretch of the imagination. But, I just in the last month have let him stay awake longer when he wakes before I go and offer him the boob. He never really cries. He either wakes up to play and his feet seem to entertain him just fine til he falls back to sleep himself or he makes grunting sounds indicating that he has scooted all the way to the top of the crib and his head is hitting the bumper (in which case moving him back to the middle of the crib usually settles him back down). When his grunts get more aggressive (but still not crying), I offer the boob.
But, my caveat, is that when I am really tired, I tend to automatically offer the boob just because it's the fastest way for mama to get back to sleep and with mama back at work, sometimes that has to be the priority.
