3rd Trimester

An actual conversation with my husband

Me: So, how far long are we?

Him: 33 weeks?

Me: No, 29. How many weeks are there total?

Him: 44?

Ha. He's actually a bright guy and I know if he thought about it for a minute he would have come up with the right answers, but it shows how much more connected to pregnancy stuff women are. ;) He knows our due date at least, lol.

Re: An actual conversation with my husband

  • Haha nice! You know what helps my DH to keep on track? Every two weeks we draw my belly on a poster board and write down the date, weeks, weight, inches around, and symptoms. He then takes the marker and draws a different smilely on my belly every time! It keeps him on track, and it'll be something we can always have! I love it!

  • here's one for you... my husband gets an email every monday saying how many weeks we are and still can't remember by Tuesday how many weeks along we are.

he does at least know its a 40 week thing (although he is determined I will deliver at 37 weeks- he thinks he can will the baby out since he's so anxious to be the daddy of an outside baby)

  • Ahhhh, I had many years to train DH.  It took about 2 years, but he would know on any given day how many DPO I was, or when egg retrieval was scheduled, or how many days until testing after embryo transfer.  I think that practice is the only reason he knows how many weeks we are - he knows that he *has* to know Wink

This is my DH! I told him that the baby is big enough that he would have an 85% chance of making it if I delievered now, and he goes "Yay, so you'll do it in like two weeks or so right? Cuz then he'll be out and we can play!" I told him no, I can't just "do it now" and he'd have to be in an incubater until he developed more, and that he wouldn't be able to play for a long time still. He doesn't think its fair that he has to wait so so so long to play with the baby. You know, bc its so hard for him to wait Confused

  • I was interested to see what my DH would say, so I asked, and this is how he answered:

Me: Hunnie, how far along are we?

Him: I think 7 Months and 3 Weeks!

    Gotta love him!!!

  • Now that I'm past due, my husband knows where we are, but earlier in the pregnancy, he was talking on the phone with his mom and he said "So, how far along are you now, 13 weeks?"

    Me: "Um, no, 26 weeks."

He really doesn't pay attention sometimes.

  • My DH knows because he signed up for emails from babycenter. Hahaha.
