3rd Trimester

I noticed my first belly stretch mark today.

I have a few on my hips, no surprise since I have old ones there from puberty. But today I noticed one right above my belly button where I had my belly button pierced (I haven't worn a piercing in a couple years). It's so tiny, my sister made fun of me for even noticing it! Is it weird I think it's kind of cute?

I can't wait to see what other stretchies the next 9ish weeks bring!

Re: I noticed my first belly stretch mark today.

  • I still wear my belly button ring and I also got a little stretch mark above the hole.  I'm not worried about it....it's not that bad looking.

  • Same thing happened to me w/ the belly piercing.  Its not that bad; it's sorta reddish.

On the other hand, I'm starting to get stretchies under my bump.  I have more on my left than right.  This seems so weird to me b/c she lives on my right side.

  • Yes, it is weird to think it's cute... I could be wrong but you won't think it's cute when more start popping up and get bigger!

I am tempted to duct tape my belly so it will stop making stretch marks! (they only started in the past few weeks and it gets worse every week!)

That is exactly where mine are growing.. all are below my belly button and more of them on the left than the right.. and LO also is always curling up under my ribs on my right side... weird!

  • I am just waiting for mine to come!
  • I've never had my belly button pierced but I also have a tiny one above it.  I didn't get any with DS, but figured I would this time (I'm surprised that I'm not covered in them yet).  It's been the same (size/color) for the past 6w or so.  I'd be ecstatic if I walked away with just one small mark.
  • Glad your not freaking out about it. I work on a postpartum unit and see some women with stomach's full of them. I personally have not gotten one in the two previous pregnancies, and so far have none this time. I hear they are genetic....
