  • Mine is.  Maybe in the next month or so we'll buy a convertible one, but this works for now.
  • I used opposite reasoning to switch to a convertible as soon as possible.  Since it cost more money, I wanted to use the convertible right away.  It's puuurty.
  • We have the Graco Snugride 32, so we got awhile. DH and I are getting her the conv car seat for her birthday.
  • Mine.  She's probably got another 4-5 months in it.  I leave it in the car some times and I'd switch to a convertible, but it really comes in handy to be able to carry it when she falls asleep in it.

  • Sigh, we had to switch my chunky monkey at 4 mo.  She was then 19 lbs 15 inches, & ours only went to  22 lbs.  It was a BEAST to carry when she was sleeping.  I actually don't miss it.

  • We are switching b/c my LO screams in this infant car seat, so I want to see if he will be more content in the convertible one.  If it were for weight and height, he would be in it for at least a few more months.
  • DD is still using her infant seat.  Grandma is buying her a Britax for Christmas so we are holding out until then to switch.  She doesn't seem unhappy or uncomfortable so I am fine with holding off for a couple of months.

  • My almost 10 month DD is still in her infant seat.  She loves it, and it is good until 23 inches and 30 pounds so she will probably stay in it until 1 year I am thinking.  We already bought our Britax, but she is comfy.  She sleeps in her car seat and in the morning I can take the whole thing right into my Mom's before work without waking her and she gets to sleep more instead of being awake at 6am.  I usually just leave it in the car like you would a convertible, I also don't understand that argument Huh?
  • i don't know why people always refer to the infant seat getting too heavy to carry around... just leave the thing in the car. duh. i almost never used ours as a carrier. if you leave it in the car, it's just like any other car seat. just b/c it's too heavy to carry doesn't mean you must then change to the convertible at that exact second... i don't get it. (i've been wanting to say that for awhile. lol)

Liam is still in his Safeseat, and he's almost 10 months. he's only 27 inches and 17 lbs 12 oz, so he can be in it for quite awhile yet.

  • We didn't put Kate in a convertible until she turned 11 mos.  We already had the convertible, so I guess we were just lazy (and she still fit, of course)...
  • Mine, although I'm suspicious that by the time we have her 9 month appointment she's going to be too long.
  • Me.  Changing to the other seat means we would have to start installing seats every time we want to change cars.
  • we switched because I didnt want to lug him around anymore. My friends 11 month old is 17 pounds and still in his infant seat! Hilarious. We bought 2 britax blvds and installed them asap!

  • I just switched to the convertible this weekend.  My DD is tiny (in weight) but she just looked so unconfortable in the infant seat.  We had the snugride.

  • We plan to use it in DH's car until she outgrows it. We have a convertible for  my car. I'm with Mrs. AKP though, we leave the carseat in the car. we've never lugged her around in it. that's why my beautiful mei tai carrier is for :)

  • We had to switch because the flame retardant material on the Keyfit30 caused his eczema.  As soon as we switched it cleared up.
  • DD is still in her infant seat she still only weighs 19lbs. my little peanut. but i have my eye on the Graco Nastalius(sp). maybe for her birthday or christmas.

We are still in it. We just leave it in the car and take him out (that's what you do with a convertible carseat anyway, no? I've never understood people using that as a reason to switch to convertible, lol) since he's so heavy now. He's 21.5 lbs and it lasts til 30. We don't plan to make the switch until we have to.

This. The infant seat is so safe! However, I do admit to wishing we had a more upright convertible seat so I could get a little legroom in the passenger seat.

  • We are switching around her birthday. ?She is 21lbs and could probably stay in it a couple more months but I don't see the point. ?I think she would enjoy the convertible seat.
