M's sleep schedule has gotten a little out of whack because of his preschool class - he's taking a later and longer nap, but that's pushing bedtime later and he's not getting enough hours of sleep at night because of it (he wakes at the crack of dawn no matter what time he goes to bed) and I'm trying to figure out how to help him get back on track.

Well our wake up/bed time is always the same
Wake up : 7 am
Bed: 7:30 pm
Naptime IF he takes one is no later then waking up at 4 pm and usually for 1 1/2 - 2 hours. But naptimes in my house are like a blessing
Bed sleeping 7:30/8pm
Wake: Z-6am, G-7am
Nap 11:30/12 to 1:30/2
JLK is so off also...but I dont really know why.

nap 12:30ish - 3 ish (but some days she plays for the first hour then naps...)
bed 8-8:30
I dont know why she is up so early (she used to get up 6:45-7:15) And I have moved her bedtime both ways with no luck

Bed: by 8:00 at the latest. On days with no naps, he's down by 7:00.
If E takes a late particularly long nap, I still put her to bed at the normal bed time even if she's wide awake. It takes her a while to settle (sometimes up to an hour), but at least she's in bed "resting."
Typically:
Wake for the day: between 7 - 7:30
Nap: starts around 2 and lasts till between 4 - 4:30
Bedtime: between 7 - 7:30
C wakes up without fail between 6:30 and 7 no matter how late or early he goes to bed. He functions best (few if any meltdowns, and goes to sleep easily) if he gets 14 hours of sleep a day. That means 12 hours at night with a 2 hour midday nap.
But since he was sick in Sept., he has rarely gotten his optimal amount of sleep and it makes the whole day harder -- he fights naps, he fights baths, he fights going to bed at night. And it sucks! This week is my week to get him back on track. Last night he was in bed at 6:40 and woke up just before 7 for the day (with lots of pushing and pulling at me in between).
Wake between 6:30-7am
Nap 12:30-2:30 (sometimes he sleeps longer, but no later than 4:30pm)
Bedtime 7:30pm (he is in bed by 7:30, but sometimes doesn't fall asleep until later)
Thanks everyone. M wakes up between 6-6:30 am regardless of bedtime so I'd like him in bed by 7/7:30, which was the old routine. However, now he's not going down for a nap until 1/1:30 and is sleeping 2-2.5 hours. If he sleeps past 3:30 for his nap, he doesn't fall asleep until 8:30 or 9 and is exhausted the next day. I think I just have to try to get him down a little earlier and start waking him up if his nap goes too long. The later bedtime is NOT working.
Yeah, the bedtime routine is solid and we do it about the same time every night +/- 15-30 minutes depending on his nap but shoot for 7:30 every night. M knows that bath and pj's mean bedtime too, but he'll stay in his bed talking to his stuffed animals and rolling around for over an hour if he's not sleepy. Yesterday he slept until 4 so we put him down at 8 for bedtime and he didn't fall asleep until close to 9 and was really tired this morning. He's also a cranky mess if I wake him from naps, so I feel like it's a lose-lose situation.
DS just doesn't respond to our routine on some days -- even if we do every single optional thing, he was still fighting sleep. I put my foot down last night on both DS and DH and said, we'll play a tiny bit outside (stomping in puddles in the rain), then clean up, PJs, and bed. We skipped dinner and bath -- he doesn't usually eat more than two bites at dinner anyway and the bath is always optional in our house. It worked last night and he was asleep in 20 minutes of nursing/cuddling/singing with mama.
Wake: 7:30-8:30am
Bedtime: 9:30pm
Unfortunately she's been pushing her bedtime back since summer because of the light. I'm okay with it now but once I go back to work we'll shift earlier and have her wake up earlier.
Naps: Starts 1 or 2pm, it's really hard to get her to nap. But once down she sleeps 1-2 hours.
The boys usually wake up around 7-7:30am.
Nap starts at 1-1:30pm (usually don't fall asleep until 2pm)
Bedtime starts at 8:15-8:30pm and lights out at 9pm.
ETA: We have to wake the boys up from nap now otherwise bedtimes get really messed up (boys will literally stay up past 10-11pm if I let them go longer than 2 hrs). So they get woken up by 3:45pm every day.
One thing I have found helpful about waking her up from nap and not getting grumpy is I make noise and she wakes up but I dotn do it in her room. SO she wakes up normally...on her own and gets time alone. Then when she calls for me she usually isnt such a nightmare (I did say usually!)
