*Clicky Poll* "natural" induction

If you were term, what ways would you consider to naturally induce labor?[Poll]

Re: *Clicky Poll* "natural" induction

  • I would definitely try the walking, sex, and spicy foods. I would try EPO if I wasn't too lazy to go out and buy some lol.

  • I have been taking EPO and drinking red raspberry left tea- neither of which are induction methods.

I have eaten spicy foods, and pineapple. I have had sex. (The nipple stimulation is just TOO uncomfortable).

I can't physically walk 2 miles due to swollen legs/feet. I do walk 20-30 minutes a day though.

I will try castor oil if I hit 41 weeks.

I think that was all the options...

  • what worked for me last time: sex, walking, and balsamic vinegar.
  • Walking and sex are the two most recommended to me, and probably the two that helped a little. But yet, here I am.

Pineapple did nothing but give me heartburn.

... what'd you do with the vinegar?

  • I've tried sex, spicy food, and bouncing on an exercise ball.  Nothing yet...

eat it. lol.  there's a place near me that serves "The Salad." they claim it will induce labor.  it's drenched in balsamic.  i had two salads the two days before my labor started.

could be a fluke, but i love balsamic anyway...

Haha, okay.  I was just checking.  I might need to pick some up, it is my favorite dressing anyways :)

  • I'm willing to try any of the above.  None of it seems particularly invasive or dangerous.  Though castor oil would be a last resort.....

  • Sex/Nipple Stimulation were the only ones my L&D class said had a medical reason for working, but I'm not planning on trying either. Both are uncomfortable to me.. we gave up on relations weeks ago.. poor DH.
  • Raspberry Leaf Tea does not induce labor.

  • I drank raspberry leaf tea starting early second tri but that's not really an induction method

I also started EPO at 38 weeks.  Also not really an induction method it just helps soften the cervix

  • I'd definitely go with the tea/walking/food/sexy time combo before inserting anything down there.  I'm not doing castor oil- I'd rather the baby just showed up when she's ready.
  • All of you ladies are correct- pineapple, red rasp tea, EPO are not really induction methods, they help to thin out the cervix.  I just included it because some people are against it and some are for it.  I'm for it and I looove pineapple :)
