dumb computer questions

I'm clueless when it comes to computers. The IT guy was just here working on my network which was down for 2 days. Now my screen is on widescreen mode (ie, black bars at top and bottom). How do I go back to full screen mode?

andplusalso, I get lines running up and down my screen. They're faint but still annoying. How do I get rid of them?

    There should be buttons on the actual moniter to change the settings

    I don't know about the lines...sounds like a monitor problem, but you can fix your display by right clicking anywhere on your desktop, selecting properties, then settings...and adjust your screen from there.

    ahh, got it back to full screen.

    still got the lines though. ugh

    Try completely unplugging your monitor from the machine and plugging it back in.  Sounds like a messed up pin.
