WWYD? Gift question...

My FIL would like to buy us a "large" gift...he's considering a travel system.  My brother just had a baby girl in March and they are willing to let us borrow their travel system as they have something else now.  We pretty much have all the other big gift items, including a glider/ottoman. Should I let FIL buy a new travel system so we have the use of it for our future babies as well, or borrow my brother's and try to find something else for FIL to buy?  He doesn't care what it is, as long as it's a big gift item and something we'll use...

    I'd let him get the travel system, especially if you're planning to have more babies.

    If it were me I'd probably borrow the travel system and see if he was willing to just put his big gift amount into LO's college fund if you really can't think of anything else you want.

    Or maybe a pricey carrier, like an Ergo? 

    Or a convertible carseat?  We didn't use the infant seat past 5-6 months at all because they're so bulky/heavy/etc.

    I'd have him buy something else, like a nice umbrella stroller for post infant stage (say a McLaren), or jogging/hiking stoller.

    Other ideas: nice swing or a year of pro monthly baby pictures.
