I had a positive ffn at 28 weeks and we're pretty positive i'll deliver by thanksgiving, which is my 34th week. Just trying to get an idea of how long they're usually in there.
each baby is different and it will depend on how far along you actually get. I had a 32 weeker who was in the hospital longer than some babies who were born earlier than her. I wish you lots of luck and hope all goes well for you and your baby!
I have a 30 weeker (he is now 33 weeks), and they will only tell me his due date. So that is what I am anticipating, and anything earlier will be a nice surprise. Good luck! I hope everything goes well and you can take your LO home quickly!

I had a positive ffn at 29w6d and delivered at 32w4d. I had the beta methazone shots when I had the first positive ffn and I really think that helped my LO a ton. He was in the NICU for 24 days, mostly as a feeder/grower.

DD was born at 31w4d and she spent 30 days in the NICU. While DD was in the NICU the doctors and nurses would only commit to her due date so we were very happy when she came home after just a month. I wish you all the best.
I had my DS at 32 weeks. He just hit the 4 week mark in the NICU. The woord is he will be home this week sometime. We are just patiently waiting to get the final order from the doc. When he was first in the NICU they would always tell us he would be home by his due date.
My DS was born @ exactly 32 wks and he was in the NICU for 5 wks. He needed no breathing assistance at all due to getting the steroid shots one week before he was born. He needed to be under the bili lights due to jaundice and needed to learn how to suck, swallow and breathe which took him a little while to finally get. Once they get it though they are off and go home very quickly.
Lily was born at 34 weeks, 4 days. We had the steroid shots at 27 weeks, and that helped a ton. She never required any sort of medical interventions at all...she was in the NICU for 13 days, only for severe (rebound, 3 times) jaundice. Our NICU was a bit more leniant with us in terms of telling us when she was going home--they kept saying as soon as her bili count stops rebounding, she is home! That started day 3, before I was even released, so I had high hopes!
DS was born at 34 weeks 1 day. I never had a chance to get the steroid shots for his lungs so if you can get those, they seem to help. DS spent 22 days in the NICU for breathing, feeding, and heart rate issues. While we were there, they would only tell us he should come home around his due date so plan on that and if he comes home earlier, it will be a nice surprise. The disapointment of thinking they'll come home at a certain time and then seeing that go by is harder than preparing for a longer stay IMO.

DD is a 34 weeker, exactly. She spent 7 days in the NICU as a feeder/grower. We were very lucky. Not sure why she was born 6 weeks early and we'll probably never know. My water just broke and that was it. Good luck to you.
she was born at 32 weeks and 5 days. Came home 2 weeks and 5 days later. No monitors, and has been great ever since. She was 4lbs, 2 oz and 16 1/2 inches. Now, at 8 weeks, she is 9lbs 5 oz and 22 inches. YAY!
DS was 34 wk and 4 days and went home 10 days after he was born. He was a feeder/grower only, and never had breathing issues. I think all babies are different, and really depends on what they are dealing with. When we were there they would only tell us by 37 weeks he would be home, until about a day or two before they discharged him.
She was born at 33w 4d and was there 6 weeks and 1 day. They told us at least her due date and she came home 1 day before!
On another note, you can't always trust those tests. I had a negative one the day before I had LO. My dr. says it can go both ways. Good luck and I hope yours is wrong!
It looks Like my ds is a "success story" He was born @ 33 weeks and came home in 10 days...He almost came home @ 7 days but he had a bad feeding day and we thought he would be better @ the hospital over the weekend..But they had prepared us for him not to come home until 36-37 weeks...
28wks 6 days due to severe IUGR in Evan (baby . Cameron came home first at 67 days on oxygen. Evan came home the next day at 68 days. Both should have been there at least another two weeks but insurance wouldn't cover it if the docs felt that DH and I could handle having a 3lb 8oz baby and his oxygen supported twin at home.
My son was born at 33 weeks and 3 days. He was 5 pounds 4 ounces. During his NICU stay, his only problem was jaundice. He came home after spending 11 days in the NICU.
Re: if you had a 29-34 wk preemie
32 weeker, 4 weeks in the NICU.
