PsIP: WDYT?

I looked back at the pics from yesterday and noticed that his chin was really red where the squash was touching him.

Here is today - notice his chin and the redness around the eye on the right.

His cheeks have been a little red and chapped lately from the weather, so I'm not as worried about that.

Can you even see it in these tiny pictures?

  • maybe under his chin is chapped too and the squash irrated it somewhat.  My DD is the same way too.

  • I can't tell either. But, you know better than most how to spot a food allergy.

  • I can't really see it either.  Are you willing to do a patch test somewhere-say on his arm?  DS got hives all over his face and swollen lips after a teething biscuit I gave him.  The only ingredient I can find that he hasn't had in other stuff is sunflower oil.  One baby food jar I bought has it in it so I want to try rubbing it on him somewhere before I feed him it!  I'm terrified he's going to have bad allergies.  I hope David is just chapped and free of his brother's allergies.
  • It is hard to see but I see a little rash. It might be from contact with his skin. Is he acting like he is having an allergic reaction other than the rash?

  • It could just be because it's "new" to him. Wesley had a skin/diaper rash from pears. It was also the first fod he actually liked and ate. The pedi told me it could just be his body getting use to it. She told us to wait three days and try again. I think he had the reaction twice, but it's all he eats now. Talk to his doctor before you rule it out. Also, in 2-3 days watch his diapers for a reaction.

Gabes reactions are so varied depending on the food.  Dairy makes him anaphylactic, but some of the others will just give him a rash - no breathing problems or itching.

    Who knows?

  • I don't see it either but I'm sure even the slightest bit of redness would concern you due to his food allergies. Good luck with the little guy:o)

Well I hope it is just his body getting used to solids then. That can happen too. Luke got a little rash when he first ate solids.
