DH is a great SAHD but sometimes he doesn't have... the mom's touch. One is with feeding DD. I recently found out he thinks bibs are superflous - why wash a bib when you will have to wash the clothes anyway. He didn't think it was very EF.
I pulled out clothes from DD's drawer and also from the dryer and found them stained by bananas - big black stains with weird greasy beads all over the place. Of course, these banana stains are on her cutest tops, ones with applique and designs and delicate stuff.
Used a classic stain remover. Soaked in Bac-out. Soaked in detergent. Soaked in Dawn. Soaked in oxiclean. Scrubbed and patted and drenched. Used my tried and true remedy of Dawn and peroxide. Nothing worked.
Well I took a sink full of the hottest tap water possible, submerged the clothes and dumped oxiclean directly onto the items so it was like a paste right on the stains. did a bit of swishing so the oxiclean was also in all the water. Then I put a few hefty squirts of Bac-out into the water and left it overnight.
EVERYTHING is gone. All the greasy dots, the black stains, even the old faded stains from previous food mishaps, and all the applique looks as good as new! So for those of you with banana stains... a good 2 scoops of oxygen bleach in about a gallon of hot water, and then maybe 1/4 cup of Bac-out and let soak for a good 8-10 hours. Seemed to be the magic combo for our household.
And DH now understands the purpose of bibs

It's an all-purpose cleanser that smells like limes and has enzymes in it so it's great a breaking down organic stains. Can be used for laundry, cleaning and more. You can find it at many health stores, i get mine from drugstore.com.
