Sorry, I know this gets asked all the time. But I'm not finding anything super recent and I don't feel like searching.
What all do I need for me for when we get home with the baby? Obviously, there's a bunch of stuff that I can take from the hospital. But what am I going to need to go buy? Thanks
Re: What do I need to go buy for ME?
I just bought pads. My hospital sent me home with a kit that had tucks pads (that I never used), numbing spray, peri bottle, etc. Some people like those little donuts you sit on if they have hemis too.
If you're BFing, you'll need pads and stuff for that, but I didn't with my first, so I don't know anything about that.

I suggest cottonelle flushable wipes. ?Honestly, you should pack them in your bag. They are so much better than using the hospital TP.
?
?
pads, ice packs, and comfy clothes
if breastfeeding, Lanolin, leak pads, at least one sleeping type nursing bra (don't buy too many nursing bras because you don't know how big you will be after your milk comes in)
Pads. The Dermaplast numbing spray is fabulous, if your hospital doesn't provide it. Ask for a second peri bottle at the hospital if you have multiple bathrooms that you use - that thing's heaven.
Nursing bra/tank/pads, if you plan to nurse. A lot of women swear by lanolin. I hate the stuff, but that's just me.
I REALLY liked wearing DH's button-down shirts the first week or so we were home. Gave room for the swollen tummy, easy access for nursing.
You can fill and freeze a few diapers or pads to use as cold packs when you get home, too.
I'm going shopping this weekend for ME....
here's what's on my list, but i'm interested in what other people suggest too!
- nursing pads, nursing bra/tank, maxi pads, large granny panties, plastic mattress pad (in case my water breaks while i'm in bed - we just got a new bed), slip on clog-like shoes for the hospital, light snacks for the hospital, a few larger zip up/button up sweatshirts/shirts (heard this makes it easier for nursing)
A bottle of Beaujolais.
Oh, yeah, and pads, sure. Pads.
If you are nursing:
Lansinoh nipple cream
Lansinoh breast pads
Case of water to keep in the nursery - You will get very thirsty while nursing and the last thing you want is to find yourself without water or a snack at 3am while you are in the middle of a nursing session.
Snacks - almonds, granola bars, etc for the nursery.
The post hospital stuff I can't help with.
ETA: Just re-read your post, and saw you were wanting ideas for when you get HOME. Sorry, my list includes stuff for the hospital, too.
I loved my Medela Sleep Nursing bra -- wish I had taken it to the hospital with me. Comfy enough for sleeping, but gives enough support so you aren't hanging out there with visitors in and out, plus it can hold breast pads in place (not that you will probably be leaking that early, but read on...)
This time, I will definitely be buying some of these Soothies gel breast pads:

I had very sore, cracked nipples in the hospital, and they gave me a pair of these to help with the pain. They were fantastic.
Tucks pads. Long maxi pads. (I actually didn't bleed heavily post-partum, but it's good to have these on hand.) They will supply you with all of this in the hospital, but you'll want a supply for when you get home.
Socks or slipper socks. I think maybe they gave me a pair in the recovery room, but not during L&D. I was glad to have my comfy socks from home.
PILLOWS. Hospital pillows are thin and crinkly. And they don't give you enough of them. Sleeping post-delivery is not much more comfortable than when pg, especially in a hospital bed, so I wanted extra pillows for comfort.
Soothing hand/foot lotion, for DH to massage hands and feet during labor. Other comfort items--back massager, tennis ball, rice sock, cold pack (I had one of those ones for a headache that you fill with cold water and ice -- it was great during pushing when I was so hot and sweating). Chapstick.
iPod, maybe? I didn't listen to any music during delivery--either too much happening or I was trying to sleep, but it would be easy to stick in your bag. I probably will this time.
Toiletries to shower at some point. I even took a razor so I could shave my legs. It felt so good to be able to bend over again!
Boppy pillow. Even if not BFing, the Boppy is great for holding baby for hours on end. Even a newborn can start to feel heavy after a while. It was great for BFing.
I second the peri bottle. They'll give you one, but you'll really want one for a bathroom on each floor of your house. We had to go buy something that would work, and it didn't work as well as the peri bottle. You will be using the peri bottle in lieu of wiping with TP for a while!
And I will definitely be buying the Dermaplast. They didn't have this at my hospital--friends told me about it later, and I was so mad I had not been informed earlier!
Def. nursing leak pads. I didn't breastfeed and no one gave me that tip before I had DS. I literally had to put folded washcloths across my chest in my bra to absorb the milk while I searched Target for the nursing pads. It was terrible.
ETA: If you are not planning on breastfeeding, I also recommend a front closure sports bra - it is a lot easier and causes a lot less pain to get on and off when your breasts are engorged.
