2nd Trimester

I so darn itchy!!!

Grr.. anyone else "scratching like a crack addict"? haha.. hope that doesn't offend anyone. I am so itchy these days.. everywhere! I have had the itchies before but it was always in bed when I couldn't sleep.. like an anxiety thing. This is totally different, I get hives. Tonight at work, they were all over my chest.. yikes. Maybe my skin is more sensitive to laundry detergent now? I don't know- help!

Re: I so darn itchy!!!

  • I've been crazy itchy all pregnancy! I have always had ezcema and issues with getting really itchy dry skin, but it's been a nightmare for me. Showering is the most unpleasant experience for me! I get to the point that my legs itch so bad they burn! I had hoped it would be a 1st tri thing for me, but it continues on. I've changed EVERY product I use and switched showers. Now I just deal.

  • offending a crack addict?

I've always got itchy belly, but people tell me not to scratch it, I do in my sleep though anyway

  • Being a recovering crack addict.. I find this highly offensive.  :) I kid.  Too soon after the AP stuff?

TMI I know, but my nipples itch like crazy.. Actually just the left one.  I look like i have a hickie on my boob from scratching so much.  I took a hot hot hot shower and the pain of the water felt better than the itch.. its that bad.

  • The only cure I have found is as soon as I turn off the shower I rub baby oil from my breasts down to my ankles then I try to air dry as much as I can (let my body absorb the moisture) then I put on lotion.

My skin, especially my belly, was so dry it looked like dandruff flakes on my waistband of my pants from dry skin coming off every where. Since using baby oil and lotion it has gotten 100000% better!

  • Umm, I'm so itchy that I have bumps and scabs everywhere....all over my neck, face, stomach, legs, butt, coochie, and my EAR!!!!!    WTF.
  • I am so relieved I didn't offend any crack addicts. Haha.. sorry, but you never know who you're gonna piss off over the smallest statement! Glad you guys can keep it light. Anyway, thank goodness I'm not the only itchy one. Last night at work I had one of the resident's scratching my back (I work with residents with dementia) haha.. don't worry they aren't my slaves, they laugh about it. Dry air + over-stretched skin = a disadvantage of being pregnant throughout fall/winter I suppose... oh well. Better this than swetting and panting uncontrollably.
  • yes!  i wake up in the middle of the night and feel like i need about a million more hands to scratch all of the itchy places!!!
