NBR: my worst nightmare come true

So my DH's department at work had to do some downsizing and he lost his job today.  Crying  I am however thankful because his old boss (who was in tears while letting him go) pulled some strings with HR and got him an interview in a different department.  It is at 9:00am tomorrow and so I am praying that it all works out.  DH is very confident and I am doing my best not to stress, but it is VERY hard.  Anyone else going through the same thing and could give me some advice and or pointers on how to handle this situation, I have never been in one like this. Surprise

    I'm so sorry!!!! I'm not in your situation.. yet. DH's company has been doing layoffs for over a year now. He made it through the first two, but now he's at the bottom of the totem pole. *Finger crossed* that he makes it through the next one.

    Good luck tomorrow for your DH! I pray that he gets the job!

    I'm so sorry.  This economy completely sucks. I have so many friends who are out of work!!  Hang in there, I wish him luck at the interview tomorrow.

    My DH has been laid off since March and it looks like no work till Feb.  But he gets unemployment so that helps.  I wouldn't stress it.  If he qualifies for unemployment it might be nice for him to be home for a while, atleast thats how I look at it with my hubby.  I work full time so he gets to play housewife.  He cooks, cleans and does most of the laundry!

    Thank you ladies for your thoughts and prayers!  I am NOT going to stress as my sister and mom have already told me that is the last thing I can do right now because it would be bad for the baby.  He will qualify for unemployment so I am thankful for that too.  I am sorry to hear that there is a possibilty your DH's could loose their job or that your DH is laid off.  Good luck to us all!

    i know it's not the best news in town...but seriously, he is VERY lucky to have an interview so quickly.  his boss must love him!  That's really great!

    I agree he is VERY lucky to have an interview set up already.  He has only been with the company for 2 years and his boss loved him and the work he did, we are fortunate she was able to pull some strings for an interview.
