DH & I got a jogger style because he likes the maneuverability of the three wheels, but it's not a true jogger, which tend to be heavier and larger. It's more of a lightweight everyday stroller, though the front wheel does lock if for some crazy reason we want to go jogging with it.
jogger strollers tend to not be as easy to transport. They are heavier and don't fold up as small as other strollers do so I would recommend going with an everyday stroller or both.
I'd say it depends on how often you realistically plan to jog with baby. We registered for the Baby Jogger City Classic because we liked the style of a 3 wheel stroller, but this isn't a stroller you are supposed to jog with. I know I won't jog with baby so I just did a regular one.
I think it might depend on what kind of terrain you might be jogging on.
I have jogged (with my sister's Graco travel system) and it was a little bumpy for my niece. The jogger stroller was a much smoother right for her and it was easier to steer with one hand.
Honestly, I'd wait and see how much your baby likes the stroller. Mine did not. I still needed one when she was tiny (although I put her in a sling a LOT for errands and stuff), but later I really wanted to get a jogger so I could start running. And my DD would NOT tolerate more than 10 minutes in the stroller at a time. I had been looking closely at a BOB Revolution, so I was glad I didn't invest in something that we would never have used.
I would start with a Snap 'N Go, and that gives you time to choose something a little further down the road. I would have used a nice Maclaren for outings, but a jogging stroller was not in the cards for us. And I think joggers are cumbersome for everyday errands and stuff.
I'm getting the jogger stroller because it's a smoother ride and we plan on bringing it to DH's softball games and such which is through all kinds of terrain.
I wanted the travel system for the convenience. So we got one of those. I want a jogger too, but know I probably won't need it until next spring. So, if I get one it will be a used one then.
I guess I'm a stroller junkie though because I also want a umbrella stroller for shopping.
We have the UPPA Baby Vista and will get a pure jogging stroller (front wheel always locked - looking at model by Schwinn) in the spring when he is older. DH and I both run and we are both tall so I did a lot of research on what would make sense for us. Most of the joggers that are multipurpose are not great for running and/or do not have handles that go high enough for DH.
We are getting a jogger (Phil and Ted), but we plan to take it camping, to our ball games, on the ***, jogging (after 6 months). It really depends on your lifestyle.
I would get a jogger stroller if you plan on walking or jogging with it. Not for a trip to the mall. I would get both if I had the money. A lightweight regular stroller and a jogger.
Re: Jogger or regular, everyday stroller?
Do you jog?

I'm a runner and plan on doing so once Ada gets here...but maybe I should just hold out and wait the 6 or so weeks after delivery?
It sounds like a personal preference from what everyone is saying! Ahhh endless cash would be nice right about now
