First...he is very supportive of alternative medicine. So he was totally on board with me trying anything to avoid surgery.
That said...he told me today that I can try as much chiro & PT as I want and I will still need the surgery in the end. He said the MRI showed too much damage and surgery is really my only option. He gave me the name of 3 surgeons and he told me to meet with all of them if I want to see who's the best fit. He also changed my medications completely. I'm on a lot stronger dosages and stronger meds over all.
Then I went to my chiro and we talked. She doesn't want me to give up hope on the new treatment option but she also said that she it may not work and that she would totally understand if we put a timeline on it and say that if we don't see serious improvement by that day to go the surgery route.
So...the plan is to interview the drs over the next few weeks and if I am not significantly better in two weeks we will schedule surgery for sure.

Not what you wanted to hear, I'm sure. However, the upshot is that you have three names to research, and an excellent protocol for post-op care once you get to that point.
