I have a daycare in my home and I have a little girl that comes to me only on Mondays. Her first day was perfect, no tears, she ate good, napped great....really a perfect day. Well the last two times have been horrible. She pretty much cries for her mom most of the day. Last week she actually puked outside of my house and her mom ended up taking her to her grandma's house and said told me that she would try it again next week(being today). I'm at a loss of what to do. The plan was for her to eventually come two days a week. Should I suggest that she just start coming both days to get adjusted quicker, ask her mom for suggestions, or just throw in the towel. I hate to see a little one so upset, but I know that she is safe, warm, not hungry, not being mistreated, so I just don't know what else I can do for her. We can only watch Milo&Otis(her fav movie) so many times to get her through the day. Any ideas? I offer tons of options but she just tells me that she doesn't want to go outside, color, bake cookies, play w/the other kids, etc!! PLEASE HELP ME:)
Re: daycare question...
How old is she?
I think that the one day a week thing would be hard for her to adjust to. I know DD would throw a fit if I tried to drop her off somewhere for just one day a week. It makes the schedule too unpredictable.
I would probably suggest that the mom send her at least 2 days a week. If that doesn't help after 2-3 weeks then you might need to throw in the towel. Sometimes things like this just don't work out.
