In the hospital yesterday while checking everything else my doc. was there for another patient of his who was in labor and he came in and did a "check" he didnt call it an internal but he is a complete idiot and he is an ass he just wanted to get in and out. He put a bunch of the lubby stuff on his fingers and put them in. he did a circle with them pushing on my stomach then stood up and im pretty sure put his whole hand inside my crotch and pushed up as far as he possiably could to feel if the baby had dropped at all. He said" I hope you didnt think that was too bad cause you'll get those every hour during labor". So was that the internals you ladies are always talking about??/
There are so many things that happen at these visits that all seem so close to being the same thing...ugh im so confused...thanks ladies
Re: Was it an internal?
PCOS, Ectopic & M/C of twins October 2010, Currently TTC #2
This = Inappropriate with a capital I. I would have slapped him. Or DH would have if I could not have gotten up.
He also proceded to tell me that the swab he used should not be a big deal for me since i had just had dh the night before
he is soooo gross i wish i would have known how he was before i decided to use him.
This. This is the 2nd time I've seen someone use that word on these boards in the last 2 days. C'mon people. This isn't 1960 anymore. Realize that that term is as negative as a racial slur and for goodness sake STOP USING IT!?
?
You need to find a new Dr. It's not too late.?
I changed it because I by no means want to offend anyone on here but really?? Just like you said it isnt 1960 anymore. Can you tell me you have never used that term or the term "gay" to mean anything other then what they really are??? I ment no harm by it and im sure not one person on here thought I did. Im sorry if it offended you just a word that has wrongly been put into our vocab.
This times a million.
If I could I would totally do it in a heart beat. But there is only 1 other doc. in this town. and I picked my doc. because the other one is in the process of a divorce from his wife who he worked with because he was having affairs with PATIENTS!!! So I figured my doc. was a no brainer. Now I realize he is even worse. We live in a small town surrounded by small towns and the next closest doc. are 4 hours south or 2 hours north. With LO due in Dec. im scared to risk the highways being closed due to weather to switch.
If this isn't MUD, get a new doctor. He is completely inappropriate, making comments about sex with your DH, telling you to get used to it, etc. Run. Quickly.
What was the word, retard? Why would that be offensive to anyone? Look up the definition, seems to fit the dr pretty well. And really...suggesting to someone to change something because YOU find it offensive? Get over yourself.
I promise x1000 this is not MUD. And the 2 comments he made at the hospital last night are not the 1st. at my last appointment he made 2 other comments that had me creeped out for about a week.
I think the people with mentally?challenged kids would have a BIG problem with it. I was an elementary ed. major and it's really an inappropriate term. There is no reason for that word to be used in everyday language.?
::: eye roll :::
?
I did.. I used the word "gay" and got flamed to hell for it. I haven't used it since. I didn't realize at the time that some people feel about the word "gay" that I feel about the 'r' word.?
No worries. I was not trying to be rude or mean or flame you or anything. I think a lot of people don't realize the word is offensive, that's all. ?

Eh, if people are having a problem with a word, they should learn to relax. After all, retarded is what mentally handicapped is. And if they dont have the social comprehension to understand the capacity in which other people use the word...don't socialize.
Are you seriously telling me not to socialize b/c I don't like when other people use the word??
Yes 'retarded' is what mentally handicapped is, you're right. However, that doesn't make it ok to?call someone else that when you don't like something they've done. It's just as easy to use 1 of 50 million other words.?
?
Why do you even feel like you need to make a?comment about it? ?I told the OP that I was not flaming her or trying to be rude. ?The word is rude. Seriously, get over it. I have a problem with the word as do many others.?
If you use it in everyday language, that's fine. I'm sure you sound ignorant in real life as you do on a message board telling me not to socialize with people and asking if I'm her mother.?
No, I'm not HER mother, but I am A mother and the word is offensive. Good for you if you don't have a problem with it, but I do.
?
get a new doctor.
you have the right to informed consent for any procedure, including internals, done to you.
if you don't feel comfortable talking to this guy now, how are you going to feel when you're in labor and he wants to do something you don't want him to do (like, for example, internals every hour you're in labor - - that's insane and unnecessary)...???
I am the 99%.
The word is offensive. I am sure if your child comes out with a mental disability you will feel the same way many do about the word. Because using it as a put-down is not okay.
This. I would file a complaint wherever I could. Totally inappropriate.
