An easy pattern for longies?

I'm trying to make a simple set of longies for DS. I am a VERY new knitter, and still trying to figure out how to read patterns, so it's hard for me to discern whether or not a pattern will be fairly easy. I downloaded two from ravelry that I thought looked easy, but when I showed them to my grandma (who is helping me) she said the crotch part was confusing.

Anyone know where I can find a fairly simple pattern?

Thanks!

  • If you don't mind seaming, I'd guess that a "flat knit" pattern would be easiest.

  • I haven't completed them, but I was impressed with the Sheepy Pants pattern (it is a download that costs $6.50).  It has some great pictures and instruction that way that I didn't find with other patterns.

  • In the last few weeks I have learned a lot of new stitches because I have knitted longies for the first time, I used Sheepy Pants it is about $6 but the direction are really good. Also the stitches i didn't know how to do I googled so I could watch a video on how to do it.  I found a video for everything I didn't know how to do.  That was including the crotch.  The pattern comes with direction and pic but I found it much easier to watch the video's.

If you want to PM me I can always give you the link to the video's I used.

Just take it one step at a time and when you get to something you aren't sure of take you knitting to the computer and knit along with the video. This is what I did.  Good Luck

  • Join us on Ravelry for our longies knit-along!  I'm forever asking the most minute and minuscule questions and there's quite a few super knitters over there that don't mind answering!

I only learned to knit about a month ago and I'm doing the Sheepy Pants pattern as well.
