Favorite thing to do with LO?

We need more activity on this board!

What is your favorite thing to do/place to go with your LO in NM?  Why does your LO love it and what ages do you think that it is good for?

DH and I were talking about when we would want to start taking David to the zoo, maybe around a year?  I'm also looking forward to story time at the library, I figure we can start that early, even if he doesn't really know what is going on.

  • We live so close to the zoo that at night you can hear the seals. It's great and my DD who is 4 loves it and even my Lo who is 9 months has really started to stare at the the animals. ABQ jump has a certain times during the day that LO's can just jump on the inflatable party jumpers for like 2 hours for about $7. My DD loves it there.

  • diamondcks,

I don't have kids yet to speak from personal experience, but I work in Los Alamos at PEEC (the nature center on Orange Street) we have programs for little ones and their parents twice a month. Crafts, nature walks, etc. Generally the programs are on the first and third Tuesday from 10:30-12. www.pajaritoeec.org. Maybe once our little one is born, I'll see you there!

I should take him there  :)  I'm actually familiar with PEEC because I'm a member of Moms in Motion and we are doing a benefit run this weekend!  Not to mention I run on the trails around there all the time.

I've never heard of Abq jump, but it sounds like fun  :)  Thanks!

  • Really late responding to this, but I don't check this board that much...

We got a membership to the BioPark in February when DS was about 7 months old.  He wasn't that into the zoo then, but really liked the aquarium.  We have gone to the zoo a lot in the last couple months and it has been more fun now that he is walking and learning the signs for the animals.

We also do a weekly music/activity class (kind of like Gymboree) that DS loves.  We started that at 6 months. Also did a music class this summer at Albuquerque Academy.

We haven't been able to do the library story time yet - they all seem to be during DS's nap time...

We also go to the park near our house almost every day.  It doesn't really take much to entertain them at this age - a ball is really the only toy we need these days.

We went to the corn maze/pumpkin patch this weekend and we all really enjoyed that.
