I pulled two 9 month toys from our basement over the weekend and assembled them. One was FP and the other Playskool. I did the FP toy first and was annoyed at the billion twist ties. However, I then did the Playskool one and couldnt' believe it came in 6 plastic bags. 4 of the 6 were large enough for DS to put his head in or fully cover his face! Obviously Ds was being supervised while I was assembling the toys and I took everything out of the bags and immediately put the bags in the garbage.
Does it seem wrong to anyone else that baby toys would be packed in plastic bags? Especially large plastic bags? I will never complain about the twist ties again!
Re: Fisher Price vs. Playskool
Well, conceivably you would throw the bags out after you're finished assembling the toy right? Unless your child is right there as your unpacking it I don't see how it would be a problem. And even so, if your child is right there you'd be able to remove the bag from their grasps before they could make it over their heads. I mean, I could argue that it would be just as easy for DD to swallow a twist tie as it is to put a bag over her head...not trying to flame, just thinking of this logically.
But the PP is right...TOO much packaging overall!!!
