  size 26 refers to the 26" waist measurement.

  Think they mean a size 26, like 26 inches.  Not like 2,4,6,8...26. Some jeans are sized in actual waist inches.

  Ha.  Gotcha.  I thought only men's sizes were that way.  That makes much, much more sense!

  Size 26 sounds about right, as long as its size 26 in jeans like Sevens and not 26 like in Lane Bryant.

  I am a 26 in designer jeans (or at least was BP).  It's about equivalent to a size 0 or 2.

  I bet it's European sizing, which is your waist size in inches  - 26 is like a 2.  In most high-end jeans, they run from size 24 (a size 0) and up.
