major pain w/ BF & teeth!

so LO's bottom teeth are in and it feels like every time she sucks, her sharp teeth graze the nip.  its super painful and i'm all cracked and scabbed just like when she was a newborn!  this uncomfortable feeling has been going on for a week or so but it got so much worse last night so i decided just to pump, use some lanolin, and give myself a BF break for the day.  i've not seen much on this issue--more on LOs biting with teeth, which she is not doing...anyone w/ experience?  PLEASE tell me it gets better!  could a LC be helpful?

    It does get better! DS didn't graze me with his bottom ones, but he does with his top ones. Does she not have her tongue pushed forward when she latches on? I think a LC might help to be sure she's latched right. From my understanding, with a proper latch the bottom teeth shouldn't touch  you during nursing.

    If she's nursing properly you shouldn't feel her teeth.  She might just be relearning how to nurse with teeth though.  I know when DS first got teeth I had to break out the lanolin for a few days.  I didn't feel the teeth but for some reason it really hurt for about a week.

    yeah, DH and i were wondering if she wasn't latching on properly.  she's never had a problem w/ that but maybe the teeth thing is making her relearn it all.  i'll try to pay more attention next time.  i know her bottom lip is flared open i'm just not sure exactly what's going on w/ her tongue.
