DS was playing on the toddler playground this weekend, and it is filled with those Step 2 outdoor playhouses, slides, etc. I was thinking of getting him one for home, but it is a lot of money, so I wanted to see if anyone had some and what they thought of them. Do your children love them and make it worth the cost?
Re: Outside playhouses, worth it?
We bought one off of CL because DS has one at daycare and loves it. I think it was well worth the 40 bucks we payed for it.
ETA: never mind I read wrong. We also have what you're talking about, but ds doesn't use it yet. We got it used from my BIL and DH hasn't completely set it up yet.
I want to get DD one but can't see myself paying the 300-400 dollars for a new one so I keep checking Craigslist. If I can find one for 75.00, I'll be happy!
We're getting a wood one that we can incorporate into the playground equipment in the yard in the spring. Joseph loves to play in stuff like that, so we think it's a good deal. (Also, the one we're getting can be used as a shed later on, so it's a particularly good investment.)
Ditto the suggestions to check CL/yard sales for them. We don't have one but I am always on the lookout for one on CL. My mom just got her a little tykes convertible car @ a yard sale for $3 that is in perfect condition.
I looked for one on CL/Consign sales etc for months but finally just scratched it. Eeryone I talked to said that it really didnt get used past the first couple of weeks. IDK....with the weather turning too I just knew it wouldnt be worth it.
