3rd Trimester

1 year ago: where were you?

We had just gotten back from our honeymoon in Napa/Sonoma/SF.... greatest vacation of my life! I'm looking at the pics and wishing I was back there right now, sipping on some amazing wine, enjoying the perfect weather... ::insert sitcom dream sequence here::

What were you ladies up to a year ago?

Re: 1 year ago: where were you?

  • We were getting ready to go to Vegas (for the first time for DH and the first time since I was 10 for me).  It was our last vacation before we started trying.  It was SO MUCH FUN!

  • We were still getting used to married life (got married on Aug 31).  I was starting to get the baby bug, but DH wasn't into it yet.

  • I was getting ready to have the surgery that helped me finally get pregnant!

  • We had just been married since late August and living in a townhome.  My little brother lived with us along with 2 dogs and a cat (my brother brought home without asking.)  Within this year we have bought a truck, got pregnant, bought our first home, and had a litter of kittens (from the cat we inherited from my brother that was pregnant as well :) the kittens are super cute though).  It's been a big year.

  • My husband was in iraq and was getting ready to come home for r&r.  He actually made it home on October 23.  He went back on November 5 and was home for good March 3.  By my ovulation dates we got pregnant either March 3 or 4.  Talk about timing. LOL
  • My answer is boring compared to all the rest. We weren't doing anything special at this time last year. I was probably at work.

  • We were planning our wedding and honeymoon.  We got married on December 13th in Negril Jamaica last year.... it was perfect.

If you would have asked me a year ago if it were possible for me to be where I am at today, I would have said NO WAY.  I couldn't be happier.  Big Smile

  • Geez! A lot of you didn't waste any time getting the baby making going!

I was on vacation in NC at this time last year.  Can't wait to go back next month for Thanksgiving break

  • I was getting ready to quit my job after they had publicly told me that I had spent too much time in the hospital due to my surgery resulting from an ectopic pregnancy and that I needed to leave my feelings about baby at the door.  I was furious.  I had just lost my child, half my chance of getting pregnant again, still healing, and money was now an issue due to me not being able to work.  They told me that I had "inconvenienced" them.  I told them that it was going to be real inconvenient when I quit at the end of the month.  Really, what is wrong with people?  You aren't allowed to be human or to break down once in a while.  Why did they have to treat me that way and why did it have to be public?  I have been soooo much happier away from that aweful place!  Now I have my miracle child and I am so in love with her.  Being a CNA for nursings homes sucks and I feel for anyone in that line of work.

How terrible! I can't believe your employer treated you that way. Good for you for quitting!

  • We had just gotten home from 2 1/2 months in Connecticut. DH got sent up there for work so all three of us went, we loved it! I really didn't want to leave!

  • In Chicago for a wedding and getting ready to move from KY to Ohio and starting a new job. It was a stressful October last year!
  • We had just buried my grandmother, were waiting on test results to see what the football sized mass was in my father's abdomen but excited about being pergnant (unfortunately, that ended Dec 1st).  Now that I think about it-this has been a MUCH smoother year than the end of last year!

  • Except for being pregnant and my DD being a year older, I am doing the exact same thing as I was a year ago!?

I am a SAHM, we live in a house we plan on staying in until we retire, DH is a partner in his group, so he'll likely never change jobs. We are pretty settled and don't expect too much change, except for baby. ?

  • We were getting ready to start packing up our house in Florida and getting ready to move to Colorado.
  • Getting ready for DD's 2nd Halloween, which was a blast.
  • I was in Scotland at exactly this time last year...probably sitting in a pub with my sister getting drunk Embarrassed Classy, I know.
  • DH and I were celebrating being together for 5 years!!
