I'm starting to think my tailbone is worse than bruised...Do I call my OB about it since I think it happened during labor, or do I just wait until my appt next week and mention it?
I'd call the doctor, they can at least tell you what pain medications are safe to take if BF. I suggest getting a donut seat cushion to keep pressure off your tailbone when sitting. I think they sell them at most pharmacies.
I'm not the only one in serious pain??? I was fine right after delivery but it seems to have gotten worse since. It's just above my right hip and it means that I am hobbling around and have more trouble walking than I did when I was 9 months pregnant.
I am not sure if I injured myself during delivery or if it's a complication from the epi or something else altogether.
Nope, my tailbone is REALLY bad. It's been getting worse and worse and its just my tailbone. Sitting down hurts like hell, eventhough I sit on a pillow most of the time. And I know what you mean, I'm walking worse now than I was at 9months pg too! I figured it was bruised from delivery, because that's when it all started but its getting consistently worse.
Its bad enough now that I can't actually sit like a normal human being....I'm always leaning to one side or another to keep direct pressure off of it.
I thought I had it bad with an inner vaginal tear... Clearly, I'm a pu$$y. I'm sorry you're dealing with that... perhaps it was cracked during labor?? Happened to my SIL while delivering one of her daughters...
I hope you feel better, soon!!! At least you know your beautiful baby girl is worth the pain!!

OP, I wouldn't wait 'til your next appt. I'd call as soon as you can -- that's awful!
Bonzai, I might be incredibly immature, but I thought it was hilarious you called yourself a pu$$y while referring to your vaginal tear, lmao.

i had the same issue with my right side. it hurt so bad for the first week and half. i could barely walk. the doctor told me to put a heating pad on it and take tylenol.. and take warm baths. it didnt really help me. i just waited for it to go away on its own.
i have the same thing...my tailbone started hurting 3rd tri, but got really bad post-partum. at my 6wk appt, my midwife said it wasn't worth getting it officially diagnosed as broken vs bruised b/c there's nothing they can do about it. she said to take tylenol if it was really bad, use my donut, and be prepared to hurt for up to a year.
i use my donut on my dining room wood chair and avoid sitting on other hard surfaces.
