I've noticed in the past week or so that i'm having a lot more BH contractions. If i'm laying down or not being active I don't get them, but as soon as i'm on my feet i have a ton of them. When we take our dogs for a walk I have one right after the other. I know they say to call your doctor if you have more than 4 an hour but I honestly just kind of figure that it's normal at this stage in the pregnancy and since I see the doc on Wednesday i'm not really that worried about it. I just wanted to know if anyone else is experiencing this as well.
Re: Questions for ladies 35+ weeks along
When you're in true labor you'll know- the contractions will be on top of one another but it will be difficult to concentrate through them and even breathe through them. Some women cannot even form words to talk and they definitely can't walk.
So BH aren't what you need to call your doc about. I get them all the time and have for the past couple months. Baby is still in there!

Usually if I have a lot, I'll call and they'll tell me to take a bath and either lay down (left side) or just go to sleep. Or drink water, or empty my bladder. Same thing every time...and usually they calm down after a while.
I have to disagree that you'll know. My contractions were EXTREMELY painful but I didn't know where they were on a scale from 1-10, because I'd never been in real labor before. I thought they might get worse. I went through labor all night and then went to the doctor in the morning to get examined, when they said, yes, go to the hospital.
Also, my contractions were never on top of each other until right, and I mean RIGHT before I delivered. They were about 8 minutes apart when I was 6 cm or so.
I have a good pain threshold and I was chatting and walking around at 6-7cm dilated when I got my epi. They said, "I can't believe you're 6cm and you're looking/acting like that."
I also never had BH to compare them to. I will say real labor was painful but I thought it was going to be much worse. My water never broke--they had to break it--so I didn't have that as a sign.
Depending on how close you are to the hospital, better safe than sorry. A friend of mine barely made it. Your doctor/midwife is used to getting calls from moms-to-be who aren't sure if they are in labor. Don't be afraid to call them.
