anybody else? PT with infants or Camptodactyly

My girl has camptodactyly (permentently bent fingers) and has to have PT to try and fix it. I was just wondering if anyone else has ever or is dealing with this and how succesful was pt? TIA

Thanks I had no idea! This is all so new to us, I guess camptodactyly is rare so its a new thing for our Dr's too.

FWIW, many PT are certified hand specialists.  There's certainly room for both disciplines.  I wouldn't recommend OT over PT as being more appropriate, or vice versa, for a one month old.  Individuals in both fields should have the skills to address the issue at this age.  I don't see the overlap in fields as being unfortunate, just a reality.  In general, I think there is too much compartmentalization of individuals, children especially.  Pediatric PTs or OTs who don't consider motor, sensory, congnitive, social skills, and tempermant that expand beyond their respective area of expertise aren't worth their weight in salt, IMO. Overlap is a good thing!   OP, good luck!  OT or PT should be able to meet your needs!
