my mom got DD a mclaren stroller. i LOVE it and so does DD (she went for an HOUR walk yesterday) and i like the one she got b/c the back of it is adjustable so DD can lean back a little more than more umbrella strollers. and its 8 lbs.
I have the Graco IPO and I love it. It is an umbrella stroller, but it is adjustable and DS can lay all the way back if he should happen to fall asleep. He loves that he can look around while in it.
We have the Maclaren Triumph and we love it! We went for this one over the Volo because the Volo just looked too flimsy. And we didn't need all the features of the Quest. This was a perfect match for us.
We have the Chicco lightweight and its an easy ride. DS is comfortable, it has one cup holder, and I can attach toys with links to the side. Oh and it reclines so we were able to use it at a young age. It's our spare stroller -- goes in DH's Altima -- so we wanted something small, safe, and not crazy expensive. Its really there just so we don't need to move the stroller constantly, but if I'm doing a lot of errands it leaves more room in the truck. :O)
I just recently bought a Maclaren Quest and LOVE it! One hand fold (and open), maneuvers easily and turns one-handed. I love that it reclines, and the the seat can extend so LO's legs don't dangle.

For a more affordable option, you may like the Graco Ipo.
