cramping vs ovulation pain

I hope this isn't a silly question but how do you determine whether you are feeling cramping or ovulation pain.  I consider it ovulation pain when it is around when I am ovulating (or at least when I think) but if I am feeling "pain" in the 2ww, what should I record it as?  Any suggestions?

    I have no idea what ovulation pain feels like.  I could be having it and just not realize it so I always mark everything as cramps rather than specifying.

    How could one be really sure? I just mark it all as cramps.

    The pain I have the day I O (and for a little while the day after) is very different from cramps.  It feels a little sharp at times, then a dull ache, and if I push the skin near where my ovary is it hurts.  It also is painful when I exercise.

    I agree with mchupie.  My o pain is much different than cramps.  Plus if you are in 2ww it's obviously past O.  As for are the cramps differant then period cramps?  I had some of those since going off BCP hoping it was because I was KU, but turned out not to be.  Just much more sensitive to any feeling I got.  Try to just relax and mark whatever you feel is most appropriate.

    Another thing - marking it as ovulation pain as opposed to cramps won't change anything in FF, so it really shouldn't make a difference which way you record it.

    My O cramps, AF cramps, and 2ww cramps changed each month in where they were, their intensity, and in how they felt (stabby, pinchy, crampy, back ache).  Just mark it all as cramps.  You won't know they are ovulation cramps until you know what day you ovulated on.
