Infertility

not sure what to do...

my work friend had her baby on saturday.  we have texted a few times, and i sent flowers to her room.  my other work friend wants to go and visit her tomorrow during our lunch.  i know i should go, but i really don't want to.  i know, i'm being selfish, but i don't think i can handle it right now.

Re: not sure what to do...

  • If you don't feel comfortable, don't go. You can always see her and the baby a different time. I am sure she will understand, and if she doesn't...tough tooties!

  • I agree... I do not think you need to go.  You need to take care of you, hon.  That is what is most important right now.

  • you need to do what is best for you.  you've shown support for her in other ways and you can most certainly go visit her and the baby later when you are ready.

  • I wouldn't go either.  It sounds like you are only work friends??  Are you that close?

I hope I don't get flamed here, but going to see a work friend in the hospital is a little invasive in my opinion.  She just had a baby, is probably not looking or feeling the greatest and is exhausted.  Her SO & immediate family will most likely be there, right?

I would wait until she is out of the hospital and  more settled to go to see her & congratulate her.

  • If you're not up to going, don't go.

You can always say that you feel like you might be coming down with a cold or something and don't want to get the baby sick.

  • I would not go especially during your lunch break.  Because for me personally I would be way to sad and it would be so hard to go back and work for the rest of the day.
