Babies: 3 - 6 Months

Drowsy but awake Mommies....

I still can't seem to get DS to go down drowsy, and I was wondering if you use any kind of crib soother, baby crack machine, sea horse, etc. or if you think it's worth trying any of those things.

 Thanks!

  • the twins go down without anything special at night. Some of their naps they aren't as easy- but for some reason night time = super easy for them.

Griffin used to LOVE watching his mobile when he went down... do you have a mobile? The Dreams in Sight one is great - projects with light - so baby can see it even in the dark. We used that with Griffin and will use it with the twins when they move to their crib soon.

  • We have a noise machine that plays for 20 minutes.  We normally turn that on and DS will fall asleep within a few minutes.  He has also started sucking his thumb like crazy lately and does it at night when he is going to sleep so that may be helping him also.

  • We don't use anything. Are his eyes starting to close and open when you put him down? Maybe he isn't tired enough when you put him down?

Usually his eyes are closed and as soon as I lay him down they pop open.  I've only been able to do it once (at 4am) his eyes were opening and closing and then he drifted off to sleep.
