DS Hates Brushing Teeth

My DS hates brushing his teeth.  All he wants to do is eat the toothpaste.  We have already had a dentist appointment at which (thank God!) the dentist told us to "keep up the good work" (if only he knew that I have to hold my son down, while he is kicking & screaming, and wipe his teeth and tongue with a wet washcloth containing toothpaste.

What have you done to make your toddler enjoy toothbrushing?

    i bought ds an electric toothbrush and he loves it, specially because it has sponge bob in it!! before with a regular toothbrush it was a strugle to get his teeth brushed but now he even wants me to floss his teeth with those plastic floss thingys they sell at the store (i have no idea what they are called but they have dental floos and toothpick all in one) :D

    Everything! lol. We've had many a struggle with it at times, as well. We got him an electric toothbrush, and that helped. We let him brush for a while, then it's our turn. We called it a Tickle Toothbrush when we first got it. We also bought some of those paper cups (I can't remember if they're Solo or Dixie) with Sesame Street characters on it. He loves to drink water from them, but mostly he loves to SPIT! The rule is, though, that we can't get a cup until he brushes his teeth. So I think he gave in to the brushing in order to get to spit, since he now knows that it's the only time he gets to spit. Boys!!

    yep its a struggle. I usally threaten to take away whatever she's playing with while I'm trying to brush or no story if she doesn't let me brush.

    Katie fought me 2 x per day for months til one day I told dh it was his turn. That changed everything. She won't fight him- just happily opens her mouth.
